Why a research and test track?

The AlphaTube tests all systems for an original cargo application that scales at 1:2 for passengers. These infrastructures enable researchers and engineers to evaluate and improve their hardware.

AlphaTube

World’s first open R&D track that operates electric pods efficiently in an unprecedented target speed regime of 700 to 900 km/h.

2026

BetaTube

Launching of 30+km long full-scale pilot track for passengers and cargo. Fully or partially underground with first safety and evacuation mechanisms.

Pumping System

Our multi-stage vacuum and piping system uses state-of-the-art air blowers and vacuum pumps which are engineered for an efficient and safe operation at an optimal pressure above 1 millibar.

Vacuum Valves

Airlocks and safety section valves are crucial operational and safety features of vacuum transportation systems. 

Pipe & Subtrack

The AlphaTube’s concrete technologies set new benchmarks in cost-efficiency and durability. The modular track hosts different rail designs that guide and levitate the pods in the pipe.

Sustainable integration

We undertake environmental studies and design concepts how this new mode of transport can be implemented in the most sustainable and efficient manners.

Communication & Automation

Vacuum transportation will be fully automated and operating autonomously.

Linear Motor & Maglev System

Embedded into the tube, vacuum-grade double-sided linear motors accelerate the pods up to speeds of 900 km/h and ensure a global system efficiency with recuperation during breaking.
